Position Summary
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall strategic leadership, operational management, and financial sustainability of the Precious Moments Foundation. This onsite role oversees tourism and retail operations, fundraising, community engagement, and team leadership. The Executive Director works closely with the Board of Directors to develop and execute strategies that support the mission and vision of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Governance
•Implement strategic plans that align with the Foundation’s mission and vision.
•Collaborate with the Board of Directors to establish policies, goals, and strategic objectives.
•Ensure compliance with legal, financial, and ethical standards.
•Represent the Foundation to stakeholders, donors, and the public to enhance visibility and community support.
•Report regularly to the Board of Directors on progress, challenges, and financial health.
Operational & Financial Management
•Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in tourism, retail, and visitor services.
•Co-develop and manage the annual budget to ensure financial sustainability.
•Implement financial controls and reporting systems for transparency and accountability.
•Supervise staff, contractors, and volunteers, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
•Implement best practices for retail operations, inventory management, and customer experience.
Tourism & Retail Development
•Lead the transition to a new tour model while maintaining a welcoming and inspiring visitor experience.
•Develop and implement strategies to increase visitation and tourism revenue.
•Supervise the retail outlet, including product selection, merchandising, and sales strategies.
•Monitor industry trends and visitor feedback to continuously improve the visitor experience and increase foot traffic.
Fundraising & Community Engagement
•Develop and implement fundraising strategies, including donor relations, sponsorships, and grant writing.
•Strengthen relationships with community partners, local businesses, and government entities.
•Oversee marketing and outreach programs to promote the Precious Moments Chapel and increase visitation.
•Engage with members, volunteers, and donors to foster a strong community presence and support.
Preservation & Legacy Stewardship
•Ensure the preservation of the Chapel as a cultural and historical landmark.
•Maintain the integrity and beauty of the Chapel’s artwork and architecture.
•Develop educational programs and materials to share the Chapel’s legacy.
Qualifications & Experience
•Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, hospitality, tourism, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
•5+ years of leadership experience in nonprofit management, tourism, or retail sectors.
•Proven experience in strategic planning, fundraising, and financial management.
•Strong leadership skills with experience in board relations and team development.
•Excellent communication and public relations abilities.
•Experience in marketing, community engagement, and visitor experience enhancement.
•Knowledge of retail management, including inventory control and sales strategies.

•Supervises: Staff, contractors, and volunteers across operations, retail, marketing, and visitor services.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction by providing a safe, guest-friendly environment
- At the direction of Facilities Manager and Facilities Supervisor, perform general maintenance, landscaping, and custodial duties throughout the property
- Duties may include: cutting lawns with mowers, trimmers, and other equipment. Uses leaf blower, and other equipment.
- Trimming edges around sidewalks, flower beds, and walls.
- Weeding flower beds and planters.
- Cleaning gardens, property, removing litter
- Assists with preventative maintenance on vehicles, equipment
- Assists with and performs light maintenance work, such as painting and low level repair work (such as replacing filters, light bulbs)
- Seasonal landscaping duties may include: assisting with holiday preparation, installation, and takedown (lights, decoration), snow/ice removal; operates lawn equipment (mowers, trimmers), water flower beds and gardens, weed removal, improve growth in trees and shrubs (removal of damaged leaves, twigs, branches).
- Assist with moving furniture, setting banquet rooms for events and special occasions
- Keeps all areas of property clean, safe, and accessible
- Adheres to all company policies, including but not limited to safety requirements
This is an entry level position requiring someone who can take direction and work independently. Must be willing to work both outdoors and indoors, as well as operate a variety of equipment to perform essential functions of the job.
Current valid drivers’ license required
At least 1 year general maintenance experience or training is preferred. Must be able to perform the necessary functions of this job. Includes the ability to stand, kneel, and walk for long intervals, lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, work outdoors in all weather conditions. Position requires bending, stooping, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, etc. as needed to properly maintain all areas of the property. Qualified applicants may be required to work in cramped spaces or in highly elevated areas.
Position requires the use of chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers, cleaning solutions, and various types of lawn, construction, and custodial materials, chemicals, and equipment.
General knowledge of general electrical, carpentry, painting, maintenance, landscaping, or construction is a plus.
Facility is open 7 days per week. Generally this staff member will be required to work Monday – Friday, with occasional weekends and holidays during peak seasons. This is a part-time position, not more than 30 hours per week.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with the design and execution of pre-developed social media campaigns (including taking & editing photos, writing text, creating design layout based on brand standards and industry best practices)
- Create compelling graphics, video, and text/copy under direction from management
- Create and distribute content such as: posts, ads, blogs, and videos
- Manage live social media postings during special events
- Track social media engagement and respond to customer interaction, according to Brand Standards
- Support marketing team (including staff and contractors) with marketing research, and strategies to improve engagement
Qualifications include:
Computer Skills:
- proficient with Photoshop, Canva, or other design and editing software
- Proficient keyboard skills
- Excellent internet research skills are a plus
- Mastery of social media platforms (minimally Facebook, Instagram)
Communication Skills:
- Impeccable oral and written communication skills
- Ability to speak, read, and write English at a high level
Must be able to:
- Create social media graphics in accordance with Brand Standards
- Represent Company in alignment with Brand Voice and Foundation Mission
- Freely access all areas of the property to create photos and videos of various facilities and events
- Work independently with limited direct supervision
- Perform multiple tasks simultaneously with strong attention to detail
- Handle confidential information and use discretion
- Maintain a professional image and act in a professional manner at all times

- In accordance with Chapel Tour manual, presents an informative, interesting and accurate Chapel tour. Brings the murals, artwork, and the Precious Moments story to life with passion and a sincere heartfelt spirit. Presents knowledge regarding the history/facts of the Chapel and the artist’s life.
- Maintains knowledge regarding history and facts concerning Precious Moments and all related to it. Knowledgeable of operating schedule, special events, etc.
Customer service experience preferred. Public speaking experience and/or a demonstrated ability to speak confidently to both small and large groups of people are needed. (Being bilingual is a plus!) Must be customer service focused and demonstrate a willingness to support other team members. Requires excellent oral communication skills and listening skills. Must be motivated and dependable.
Facility is open 7 days per week. MUST be available to work weekends and holidays. There will be occasional evenings during busier seasons.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales and service
- Welcomes and interacts with customers. Ensures that each guest receives outstanding service by providing an inviting and friendly environment. Takes an interest in our guests, finding ways to create conversation. Commitment to outstanding service includes anticipating guest needs and meeting customer requests.
- Processes customer transactions, including operating cash registers, receiving payment, making change, maintaining required paperwork, processing returns and exchanges in accordance with policy, etc.
- Maintains knowledge of current sales and promotions and policies regarding payment and exchanges.
- Remains knowledgeable regarding products offered and discusses available options. Seeks/displays knowledge of Precious Moments product and looks for ways to present gift and memento suggestions.
- Recommends, selects and helps locate merchandise based on customer needs. Answers customer queries regarding the store and the merchandise. Maximizes upsell opportunities.
- Maintains knowledge regarding history and facts concerning Precious Moments and all related to it. Knowledgeable of operating schedule, special events, etc.
- Stocks inventory and assists in preparation of merchandising displays, tags merchandise as needed.
Proven retail or comparable sales experience preferred. Customer service experience preferred.
Must be customer service focused and demonstrate a willingness to support other team members. Strong sales skills required. Requires excellent oral communication skills and listening skills. Must be motivated and dependable. Previous cash register experience preferred.
Facility is open 7 days per week. MUST be available to work weekends and holidays. There will be occasional evenings during busier seasons.
